The Problem: The Connecticut GOP has relied on outdated campaign strategies, failed to adapt to changing voter behavior, and neglected key persuadable groups. This trend, if left unchecked, ensures election losses and leaves Connecticut further entrenched in progressive policies.
The Solution: The solution lies in targeted, grassroots engagement across these demographics, building relationships, and executing strategies to turn out voters—a task the State Party and individual campaigns lack the resources to accomplish.
What we do: The Connecticut Counts effort is laser-focused on increasing GOP mail-in ballot returns in the state. In urban centers like Bridgeport, New Haven, and Hartford, 100 ballot chasers will ensure mail-in ballots are returned, while 500,000 doors will be knocked on to engage residents. UConn student engagement includes voter registration drives and targeted ads on student issues. Outdoorsmen will be reached through direct mail and events like “Sportsmen for Change,” while union workers are engaged with messaging on economic stability. Low-propensity voters will be activated using data-driven outreach via mail, calls, and texts. This multifaceted approach aims to boost GOP turnout statewide.
Who does it: We will recruit 100 full-time, paid GOP ballot chasers to lead this effort. While we welcome volunteer support, this is a focused tactical mission, modeled after strategies successfully employed by Democrats since 2020. When executed effectively, these 100 ballot chasers will drive a substantial improvement in GOP results.
The Result: To secure a GOP victory in Connecticut, we must achieve critical benchmarks: increase the Republican share of mail-in ballots to 33%, engage 500,000 urban residents through door-to-door outreach, and register significant numbers of new voters. At UConn, voter registration drives and student-focused messaging should empower a new generation of conservative voices. Outdoorsmen outreach must connect with 200,000 sportsman, while union worker engagement focuses on economic stability and job security. Activating low-propensity voters through targeted communications will ensure a strong turnout. This cohesive effort is designed to drive measurable gains in Republican participation statewide.
